Oh the great Mall of America, a destination for 40 million people each year. But what 99.9% of those visiting don't realize, is that they are within walking distance of one of Minnesota's best kept secret. The Minnesota Valley National Wildlife Refuge.
http://www.fws.gov/midwest/MinnesotaValley/ When you fly into the Minneapolis Airport, the area to south, looks like one big swamp. Will, it kind of is. But, it's a swamp you can walk in. And it is not all wet, the trails are dry, the trees are large and the bugs are hungry! Did you know, that there is a trout stream that start less then 1,000 feet from the entrance to the mall?
