Are we there yet?

As most of you know, I spend countless hours driving for my job around MN,WI and MI. But the drive to Yellowstone was long and at times boaring! So one of the thing that Kim and I have done to past the time and remember were we have been going down the road, is to take a photo at the top of the hour out the front windshield. It does not matter what is in front of you at the time, you just take the photo. This week I have attached four of them. And who ever said that Nebraska was flat, never drove accross the eastern two thirds of Montana!

I have updated some additional photos from our trip, so follow this link.

Yellowstone Trip

  • It has been five years since Kim and I did a road trip for vacation and for some reason, we agreed that we would not go back to Alaska (I think people where talking about us moving there) we headed west to Yellowstone Park and any road that looked interesting. And yes, we did take more then three photos on the trip somewhere in the area of 600! The highlighted ones are on this link. http://picasaweb.google.com/ted.narveson

Not to bore you with all the details and every stop along the way but here is a run down of the past eight days.
Minnetonka to Bismark ND first night out, not a bad city.
Bismark to Big Sky MT, who ever said that Nebraska was flat never drove accross Montana, once was enough for us!
Big Sky Mt was home base for use in the mountains about 45 miles north of Yellowstone park or about the time it takes you to enjoy your daily cup of coffee.

Yellowstone Park was everything and then some. We picked the right time of year to go, as we had the park to ourselves and the tour group from Japan that kept following us! We spent four days in the park and still did not see everything. I could go on and on about what we did and what we saw, but I won't. It is to hard to discribe the size of the park in HUGE! If you go, read all you can about it, watch any tv show about it and when you get their you will still be amazed by it.

Since vacations do not last forever, it was time to pack it up and head east. Since there was no way we where going to drive through Montana again! we headed to the Blackhills of South Dakota. What a trip that day, Big Sky MT - North gate of Yellowstone Park- Dead Indain Pass-Cody WY-Deadwood South Dakota. Thanks Deadwood for the extra cash! Then a day of re-exploring the Blackhills. After that, it was time to go home.

So after eight days, seven states, five mountain ranges,3300 miles, rain, snow, wind and sun. We had a great time. So check out the link to our photos and next weekend I will add some more.
