Thanks

Memorial Day, originally was called Decoration Day, is a day of remembrance for those who have died in our nation's service and a time to say thanks.

There you are

Last weekend when we where in the yard, we kept hearing this bird and not seeing it. First it was there, then over there, will you get come out and show yourself! There you are, a Greater Crested Flycatcher. This was a first for us, as we have never seen one in our yard.  With the sun out, we headed to the refuge. And the trip was worth it. There it was, a Yellow Headed Black Bird. We headed almost to South Dakota last year to find them, but now they are back in the area. For some reason, they have not been seen for the past five years around here.

Life is not all about birds, at our house. Kim started canning this weekend, BBQ Sauce, Pizza Sauce, Spaghetti Sauce and Ketchup. The house does smell good.

It's in the Grass

I don't see it, it's in the grass, no over there, were? That's the statements that you would hear, if you spent time with Kim and I in the swamps or woods. And when you do see what the other one has seen, it is often times worth it. Take a look at the top photo, do you see it? Now you can hear the conversation that we have between us. Look in the middle of the clump of grass, for a orange beck and you will see a Virgina Rail. It's not all birds at our house, Spring is in full swing, the grass is green the plants are up and Kim is getting ready for the first Fair of the season in six weeks. It just seems like, we finished Fair Season.
