At the Minnesota State Fair

The Minnesota State Fair has started, an event we look forward to all year and plan for. From entering canning and baking, but what new and familiar food will we eat. From Scotch Eggs to Walleye Rolls and all the different beers. And since there are no nutritional labels on the food at the Fair, you can eat anything you want.
This was an okay year for us, as far a the ribbon count goes. Kim received 12 and I received, (1) 4th place ribbon, but then again I only entered one item, my new BBQ Peanuts. But that okay, it was a new recipe.

Minnesota State Fair Time

The Minnesota State Fair time is here! The canning and baking have all been delivered and now it is time to wait. So what will this year bring? as Kim says "There is a Blue Ribbon on everything, when you deliver for judging" This could be a interesting year, as there are some past old and new recipes entered. Time will tell. But I thought you might like to see what it looks like, in the kitchen and when you bring your entries to the Fair.

And the winner is?

Two County Fairs done and now State Fair is next. But before we get to far ahead of our self, let me bring you up to date with our results from the Carver County Fair. Kim received 29 ribbons including 2 Reserve Champions and 2 Champions!  I managed to bringing home 10 including 1 Reserve Champion and 1 Champion!

Fair Entry Day

The second County Fair of the year is coming this week, at Carver County. Kim is working on her baking and a canning is ready to go. The photo's are printed and framed and Bonsai have been trimmed. The Carver County Fair has some of the toughest judges and is a good preview to the State Fair. I have attached a sample of the some of the 24 photos, that we both are entering this year. Last year the judges like fuzzy, out of focused photo's for some reason. By the weekend we will know how we did and I will let everyone know.
