Trumpeter Swans in Minnesota?

Last fall on our trip to Alaska, we found a small group of Trumpeter Swans resting along the Knik river on their journey south. But, who would have thought that we would see the swans in Minnesota? As it turns out, a small group (about 600) of Trumpeter Swans spend the winter along the Mississippi River about hour northwest of our home.

I hope that the Grizzly Bears didn't follow also!

-14 Below!

How did you spend your Saturday? For Kim and I it was spending the day at the US Pond Hockey Championship at Lake Nokomis in Minneapolis. Teams from 34 states competed in the Championship on 24 rinks. There is so much hockey going you don't know which way to look.

And no, we where not the only ones on the ice but it sure felt like it. We had CBS, Fox and Star Tribune interview us about the cold weather. Must have been a slow news day. I have attched the links to CBS if you care to watch it.
