Pond Hockey

We're having a heat wave a Minnesota heat wave! it was only -7 this year at the US Pond Hockey Championships, compaired to last years -14 at noon. Are we nuts? well it helps, the sun was out, the wind was not blowing. Come on, were else can you watch hockey on 26 rinks, 200 team and try to guess the gender of someone from the rear. When you dress in POUNDS of clothes to stay warm everyone looks the same from the rear.

So what's up for us next weekend? If you know the song, It's 40 below got a heater in my truck and I am off to the _ _ _ _.

Anyone care to guess?

So its cold

So it's cold, it was -24 here this week three days in a row. It could always be worse! Tok Alaska was -72. Once again, the deer are using our back yard as their bedroom. This morning eight deer where in the yard. I think there should be an open deer season in the city or introduce some Wolfs. Can you tell I don't like deer!

I did find a Northern Flicker raiding Squirrel nest this past week.

The Quite Ladies

As some of you know, Kim and I can not pass up a good cemetery. I know I have already lost some of you already. But have you really looked at the art work, the stone carving. This past weekend I got distracted and spent sometime wandering around Lakewood Cemetery in Minneapolis. I will post other photos which you can find through the link on the left side of the page.
So next time you see a cemetery, stop and take a look around.

I have also updated the birds of 2008. These are the photos that I think are the best of last year.

New Fur

Well when Kim stated that she would like a new fur this winter, I had no idea it would come to our back yard! now that's service. These two Red Fox have set up a home somewhere in the area and like clock work, they show up about 7 pm every night to check out what the birds have left behind and then it is off to the next house.

I wonder what what happen if I asked for a new Harley.
