Store Bought Cookies

This is something you don't see everyday in our house. Kim is making cookies from premade cookie dough! I never thought I would see it, but it was for a good cause.

For those that know Kim, note the adult beverage bottle on the counter. No wonder she is so happy making cookies!

And starting this weekend, Kim was gathering ideas for the State and County Fairs. It seems like we just finished baking for the State Fair.

Ice Fishing

So, were did you spend your weekend? Well I spent mine in my ice hut fishing for panfish. And yes, the fishing was good. The temp got above zero and the sun was out. What could be better?










This is what it looks like inside my hut. I have two holes in the ice, one for dropping the bait down and the other is an underwater video camera.


I this photo, you can see the fish as they are checking out my bait in the center of the screen. And no this is not cheating. The fish still have to take the bait. Plus, you never know what might come swimming by and check out the camera or try to eat it. 

The Cold end of January

You ask how cold was it? Well, you know its cold when toss a hot cup of water in the air and it freezes! Now that's cold as our friend Jamie shows.
















And what should show up at the suet feeder this weekend, but the extra large Pleated Wood Pecker. No wonder I can not keep suet in the feeder this winter.
