Hennepin County Fair 2008

The 2008 Hennepin County Fair is in the books. Or should I say it is over and is the start of at least one more county fair and the Minnesota State Fair.

Not a lot of people get to see what it takes to get ready for a fair at our house. Entry day preparations, actual starts the night before for, four to five hours. Then it up at 6 AM and start baking until 4 PM. It is then off to enter your goods and hope that you place on everything you entered.

So how many ribbons this year.

Kim, 2 Champion, 2 Reserve Champion, 6 Purple(best of the First), 22 First Place, 5 Second Place, 3 Third Place

Ted, 1 Champion, 2 Purple(best of the First) 2 First, 2 Second

Bird bath and Blue bird.

After moving 12 tons of rock, 75 feet of waterfall's and stream, Kim still wanted a bird bath. So not to to disappoint, the shovels can out and a few leftover large rocks, add water and Kim has her bird bath. That's it no more water projects!

During one of our walks last week, we found these two Eastern Blue birds.

It has gone from Spring to Summer overnight here. The warmth is back, the storms are back and all the Harley's and hot rods out for the summer.
