Thanks to all who sampled and prejudged the entries! Your opinions were very helpful! Stay tuned for next year. There will be more to sample.

So once the stress of baking and judging were over Ted and Kim headed to the fairgrounds just for the fun of it! They enjoyed eating all the yummy, greasy, sticky, sweet goodies the fair has to offer on a stick. They looked at cows, pigs, sheep, art, hot tubs, and cowboys (okay, that last one was just Kim!). Overall having a great time at the great Minnesota get togther.

State Fair Week Part 2

Well the flour is flying again in the kitchen this weekend, as Kim gets ready for the baking part of the MN State Fair competition.
And once again the red wagon is off to the fair hauling a load of baked items. So how many items this year? 20 jams and jellies and other canned items. 20 baked items.

Now the great waiting game starts to see how many ribbons Kim will win. Any guesses? Who ever gets the closes will win a jar of what ever item gets a blue ribbon. So place your bets.
One of the advantages to exhibiting, is walking around the fair grounds before it is open to the crowds and seeing what is new. This year the butter fly house moved to its new location and the windows had a display of hathcing butter flies.

State Fair Week Part 1

What would a summer be if Kim and I did not go to the Carver County Fair Tractor Pull. This is the only event I have ever been to that they try to break last years beer drinking record! Plus they sell the beer in six and twelve packs! You would think we were living back in Wiscosin. You can't beat a good RED NECK event.
Off she goes with here red wagon loaded full of Jams and Jellies for the State Fair.
Oh no! what did Kim do this time? Seems that being first in line ( go figure) that the registration workers where not ready for Kim. Or they could not belive that someone would enter 20 items. In the end it all worked out.

Now the great waiting game starts and the baking begins!
Now with all the planets lined up and with a little planning this past year, Dr. Molde made it to the State Fair this year with his Diamond Willow bed. Lets see what kind of beginners luck he will have come judgement day. Good Luck! Posted by Picasa
